چکیده

Polyamide (PA), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and olefinic oils are incompatible. High-energy radiation in the presence of oxygen can break PTFE chain, generating hydrophilic functional groups (COF, COOH) peroxy-radicals. Based on radicals, it is possible to establish a chemical bond between PA as well oil molecules. This study prepared PA-PTFE-oil-cb compounds (cb: chemically bonded) by reactive extrusion. The wetting behavior analyzed contact angle measurement. Additionally, sliding properties compound investigated micro friction testing against stainless steel. Due good fragmentation dispersion PA12 matrix, PA12-MP1100-cb PA12-MP1100-MO-cb show slight change compared virgin PA12. In contrast, based PA46 increases dramatically PA46. Moreover, due bonding, PA-PTFE-cb surface significantly smoother than physical blend used model compound. Similarly, PA66-matrix improved tribological PA46-based compounds. COF values for PA66 PA12-Z7321 0.69 0.55, respectively. comparison, PA66-MP1100-MO-cb (Z7321) have value 0.34 0.38,

Friction and wear behavior of thioether hydroxy vegetable oil

This work describes the tribochemical evaluation of vegetable oil based antiwear additive obtained through chemical modification. The Sulfur was incorporated using a chemical reaction of epoxidized vegetable oil and common thiols, resulting in formation of a hydroxy thioether derivative of vegetable oils. The synthesis retains the vegetable oil structure, eliminates poly-unsaturation in the mol...

Wetting and friction on superoleophobic surfaces

This article describes the physics of superoleophobic surfaces, combining a recently developed free-energy approach and finite element modeling. We start by investigating the peculiar wetting behavior of such surfaces, originating in their “re-entrant” geometry, and discussing a specific mechanism for the “filling transition”, leading to the loss of superoleophobicity. We then focus on their fr...

Chromatographic Analysis of Selected Organic Compounds on Impregnated Chemically Bonded Stationary Phases

Chemically bonded stationary phases are widely used to separate many groups of organic compounds. In recent years they have become very popular because of their stability, which leads to better selectivity and repeatability of analytical results. Despite these advantages, these phases are still subject to further improvement, with the objective of optimization of separation conditions, increasi...

Wetting films on chemically heterogeneous substrates.

Based on a microscopic density functional theory, we investigate the morphology of thin liquid-like wetting films adsorbed on substrates endowed with well-defined chemical heterogeneities. As paradigmatic cases we focus on a single chemical step and on a single stripe. In view of applications in microfluidics, the accuracy of guiding liquids by chemical microchannels is discussed. Finally we gi...

Friction stir welding of accumulative roll bonded single phase brass

Single phase brass strips with 2 mm thickness were severely deformed through 1 and 3 cycles of accumulative roll bonding process (ARB). ARB process effectively increased the hardness, yield strength, and the ultimate strength of the processed materials. The hardness of processed material increased from 95 HV in annealed material to 225 HV in 3 cycle ARBed material, and the yielding and ultimate...
